Temperature Dependence of Yield Strength of Hastelloy C-276
The yield strength of Hastelloy C-276 (UNS N10276) is temperature dependent: as the temperature elevated, its yield strength also gradually decreases. The ASME BPVC Section II Part D has prescribed a series of yield strengths of Hastelloy C-276 materials at elevated temperatures which are listed in below table.
*Temp.: | -20~100 | 150 | 200 | 250 | 300 | 350 | 400 | 450 | 500 | 550 |
*Y.S | 41.0 | 38.8 | 37.3 | 35.9 | 34.5 | 33.2 | 32.0 | 30.9 | 29.8 | 28.9 |
*Temp.: | 600 | 650 | 700 | 750 | 800 | 850 | 900 | 950 | 1000 | - |
*Y.S | 28.0 | 27.3 | 26.7 | 26.1 | 25.7 | 25.3 | 25.1 | 24.9 | 24.8 | - |
*The tabulated values are applicable to ASTM B366 Gr. N10276 seamless or welded fittings, ASTM B462 & B564 Gr. N10276 forgings, ASTM B574 Gr. N10276 rods, ASTM B575 Gr. N10276 plates, sheets, strips, ASTM B619 Gr. N10276 welded pipes, ASTM B622 Gr. N10276 seamless pipes & tubes, ASTM B626 Gr. N10276 welded tubes.
*All materials shall be solution annealed.
