Pipe flanges, fittings, valves, and parts made of ASTM A694 high strength carbon or low alloy steel are primarily used for high-pressure transmission service. ASTM A694 forgings are designated with UNS number K03014 and shall manufactured to relative ASME & MSS dimensional standards. There are 9 steel grades available: F42, F46, F48, F50, F52, F56, F60, F65, F70.

Steel grades of ASTM A694 except for Gr. F48 and Gr. F50 are endorsed by ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section IX QW/QB-422. Grades F42, F46, F52, F56, F60, F65, and F70 have the same brazing P-Number of 101 and ISO 15608 Group Number of 11.1. Grade F42, F46 and F52 have the same welding P-Number 1 and Group Number 1. For Grade F56, F60 & F65, the welding P-Number is 1 and welding Group Number is 2. For ASTM A694 F70, the welding P-No is 1 while the welding Group No. is 3.
