MSS SP 97 Forged Branch Outlets
The integrally reinforced forged branch outlets are generally manufactured conforming to MSS SP 97. They can be applied to piping codes including ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4 and B31.8. The forged branch outlets can be furnished in butt welding, socket welding, and threaded types which are known as Weldolet(weld outlet), Thredolet(thread outlet), and Socketolet(socket outlet), respectively. In order to be used within the established ratings, the forged branch outlets shall be design proof tested in accordance with ASME B16.9, MSS SP 97, or ASME BPVC Section VIII, Division 1, UG-101.

The forged branch outlet can be mounted perpendicular(90°) or lateral(45°) to the run pipe. It shall be attached to the run pipe at an opening by means of a full penetration weld. The dimensions are provided in two unit systems: US customary unit or SI metric unit.

Materials for Forged Branch Outlets
The forged branch outlets can be made from forgings, bars, or seamless tubular products. The material shall conform to the requirements of WP grade seamless construction materials in ASTM specifications A234, A403, A420, A815, A105, A182, A350, B564, B381, etc. We can supply forged branch outlets out of a comprehensive material range covering carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, duplex stainless steel, nickel and nickel alloy, titanium and titanium alloy, etc. The typical materials include: ASTM A105, ASTM A420 WPL6; ASTM A815 S31803, S32750, S32205; ASTM A182 F5, F11, F22, F9, F91; ASTM A182 F304/F304L, F316/F316L, F317/F317L, F347, F310, F321; Inconel 600/625, Monel 400/K-500, Hastelloy C-276/C-22, Incoloy 800/800HT, Alloy 20, Alloy 31.
