Monel R-405
Designated as UNS N04405, Monel R-405 (also known as “Alloy R-405”), is a nickel-copper alloy and the free-machining version of Monel 400. The deliberately controlled greater amount of sulfur is added to provide sulfide inclusions that act as chip breakers during machining hence enhances the machinability of the alloy. Monel R-405 is used primarily for meter and valve parts, fasteners, as well as screw machine components.
