Hastelloy W

Hastelloy W is a a solid-solution-strengthened alloy that was developed primarily for the welding of dissimilar alloys. It is available as straight cut-length wire for gas tungsten arc welding, layer-wound wire for gas metal arc welding, and coated electrodes for shielded metal arc welding. The properties of dissimilar weld joints made with alloy W are dependent upon the alloys joined, but are generally acceptable for a wide variety of combinations. It has also been produced in the form of sheet and plate for structural applications up to 760 °C (1400 °F).

Hastelloy W materials can be supplied in a variety of product forms: wires (manufactured to AMS 5786, AWS A5.14 & ASME SFA 5.14); coated electrodes (manufactured to AMS 5787, AWS A5.11 & ASME SFA 5.11); bars/rods, rings & forgings (manufactured to AMS 5755).
