The ASTM B165 (identical to ASME SB-165) is the standard specification covering nickel-copper alloy Monel 400 (UNS N04400) in the form of cold-worked seamless pipe and tube. *A:seamless pipe or tube with O.D≤5″, annealed; *B: seamless pipe or tube with O.D>5″, annealed; *C: all sizes, stress relieved.

Condition & Finish

The seamless pipe or tube manufactured to ASTM B165 shall be furnished in annealed or stress-relieved condition. The surface of annealed pipe or tube is soft, with a dull matte finish. The stress relieving refers to thermally treated below the annealing temperature to relieve the major portion of the internal stresses. It will be furnished with a thin, light- to medium- dark surface.
