ASME SB-363 / ASTM B363
ASME SB-363, identical with ASTM B363 except for some minor difference in section 11.3, is the standard specification for seamless and welded unalloyed titanium and titanium alloy welding fittings. The fittings are intended for general corrosion-resisting and elevated-temperature services.
The titanium fittings within this standard refer to the butt welding parts such as 45° and 90° elbows, tees, reducers, returns, caps, stub ends, etc and they shall be manufactured in conformance with ASME B16.9, ASME B36.19, MSS SP 25, MSS SP 43, or ASME BPVC Sections VIII and IX. The welding fittings can be made from titanium and titanium alloy pipes, tubes, plates, bars, billets, castings, or forgings. The manufacturing process includes forging, forming, shaping, pressing, piercing, extruding, upsetting, rolling, bending, fusion welding or a combination of two or more of these operations.
The standard specification also covers chemical composition, tensile properties, workmanship, finish, appearance, hydrostatic test, inspection and certification, product marking and packaging of the titanium welding fittings.
