ASME SB-348, which is identical with ASTM B348, is the standard specification for titanium and titanium alloy bars and billets. It covers all annealed grades of titanium and titanium alloy. The titanium bars can be either hot rolled, forged, extruded, or cold worked with the cross sectional area ≤ 16 inch²; rectangular bars must be ≤ 10 inch in width and > 4.8 mm in thickness. The titanium billets can be hot worked or forged from an ingot, with a cross sectional area > 16 inch² whose width is less than 5 times its thickness.

The standard specification also covers referenced documents, chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensions, weight, permissible variations, workmanship, finish, appearance, test & inspection, and packing information for titanium and titanium alloy bars and billets.
