The carbolic acid is also know as phenol. A desolvation process is essential in the production of phenol. The desolvation is performed in a sealed pressure reactor. Usually, the reactor is made from Monel 400 cladding plates: the base metal is carbon steel plate per ASTM A516 Grade 65, while the cladding metal is Ni-Cu alloy plate of ASTM B127 UNS N04400.
