Titanium & Titanium Alloy Fittings
The titanium & titanium alloy fittings refer to butt welding pipe fittings made to ASTM B363. They can be either seamless or welded fittings intended for general corrosion-resistant and elevated-temperature service. The titanium butt-welding fitting includes 45° & 90° elbows, 180° returns, reducers, caps, tees, crosses, lateral tees, U type bends, lap-joint stub ends, and other types.
Specification of Titanium & Titanium Alloy Fittings Available
Seamless fittings: size from 1/2″ to 8″; wall thickness from SCH 5S to SCH 80S. Welded fittings: size from 1/2″ to 16″; wall thickness from SCH 5S to SCH 80S. The fittings shall be manufactured in accordance with the dimensional requirements of ASME B16.9 and MSS SP 43. And the material shall be furnished as stress-relieving annealed conditions.
Raw Material, Manufacture and Inspection
The titanium or titanium alloy fittings may be made from billets & bars (ASTM B348), plates(ASTM B265), forgings (ASTM B381), and seamless or welded pipe or tube(ASTM B861 & B862). Forging, forming, or shaping operations may be performed by hammering, pressing, piercing, extruding, upsetting, rolling, bending, fusion welding, or by a combination of two or more of these operations. Injurious defects shall be carefully avoided.
The liquid penetration inspection shall be performed on all external and internal surfaces of titanium fittings. Radiographic inspections of welds shall also be performed on welded fittings in accordance with UW-51 of ASME BPVC Section VIII.
